The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Table
From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
